Help with Oilnote, and the answers to what people ask most.

Contact

Oilnote is not on the App Store yet. A support email address goes up here on launch day.

When you write, please include which app your file came from, your iPhone model and iOS version. For an import problem, the first two lines of the CSV (the header and one row) help most. Remove anything private first.

Common questions

Which files can I import?

Any CSV file with a header row. Oilnote has been tested on real Fuelly exports. For other apps it shows each column and you choose which one is the date, odometer, fuel, cost and so on before anything is saved.

My old app's dates say 1900 or 0001

Oilnote flags those rows and asks you to keep them, marked so you can set the real date later, or skip them. It cannot recover a date the old app overwrote. See Vehicle Maintenance Tracker dates reset.

The day and month are swapped

On the import screen, switch the date order before you confirm.

How do I export everything?

Open a vehicle, then use the share button to export it as CSV. Export is free and unlimited, on the free version too.

I bought the unlock on another device

Use Restore purchase on the unlock screen while signed in with the same Apple Account.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds go through Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.

My records are not on my other iPhone or iPad

Check that both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account and that iCloud is turned on for Oilnote in Settings. Sync can take a few minutes.

Does Oilnote need an internet connection?

No. Everything works offline. iCloud sync and backups catch up when you are back online.
