Moving from Fuelly
Leaving Fuelly on iPhone
Fuelly has kept fuel logs since 2008, and plenty of people have years of fill-ups in it. Moving them to Oilnote takes about ten minutes per vehicle.
Why people are moving
The Fuelly iPhone app has not been updated since June 2024. If you would rather keep your fill-ups in an app that is looked after and stores them on your own phone, nothing has to be left behind.
Your data is yours to take
Fuelly lets you download your fill-ups as a CSV file from the Fuelly website, one vehicle at a time. Our step-by-step guide shows how, and how to bring that file into Oilnote.
What Oilnote does with a Fuelly file
- It recognises Fuelly's columns. We tested it on two real Fuelly exports, one from 2014 with odometer readings and one from 2017 that only records miles since the last fill-up.
- If your file has no odometer readings, Oilnote asks for one reading at your newest fill-up and counts the others back from it, marking them as estimated.
- Fuel economy is worked out again from your own numbers, tank to tank, with partial fills carried into the next full one.
- Your services and fill-ups live on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. No account to make.
Fuelly can also export services as a separate file. We have not tested that file yet. You can still try it: Oilnote shows every column before it saves anything, so nothing goes in until you have checked it.
